Air Fryer Buffalo Wings
Crispy wings and buffalo sauce? Always a good idea! 🔥🍗
Buffalo wings are one of those foods I could happily eat anytime, but I wanted a version that delivered that irresistible crunch without feeling overly heavy. These turned out even better than I expected, especially once that tangy buffalo sauce was tossed over the hot wings. 🤎
They’re incredibly crispy on the outside, juicy inside, and coated in a bold, buttery buffalo sauce with just the right amount of heat. These keto-friendly wings are perfect for game day, sharing, or whenever you’re craving something seriously flavorful.
Serving: 4 wings
Ingredients
Chicken Wings
- 2.5 lbs chicken wings (1.13 kg)
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 1 tbsp baking powder (about 12 g), optional
- Cooking spray, as needed
Buffalo Sauce
- 1 cup Frank’s Hot Sauce (240 ml)
- 2½ tbsp ghee (35 g)
- 1 tbsp coconut aminos (15 ml)
- 1½ tsp apple cider vinegar (7.5 ml)
- ½ tbsp garlic powder (about 1.5 g)
- ¼ tsp sea salt (1.5 g)
- ¼ tsp cayenne pepper (about 0.5 g)
- ½ tsp black pepper (about 1 g)
Directions
- Prepare the wings: Preheat the air fryer to 380°F (193°C). Pat the wings thoroughly dry with paper towels. Season with salt and pepper, then toss with the optional baking powder.
- Air fry: Arrange the wings in the air fryer basket and lightly coat with cooking spray. Air fry at 380°F (193°C) for 18 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through.
- Crisp: Shake the basket again, increase the temperature to 400°F (200°C), and lightly spray the wings again. Cook for another 5 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Make the Buffalo sauce: While the wings cook, add the hot sauce, ghee, coconut aminos, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, salt, cayenne, and black pepper to a small saucepan. Heat over medium heat until the ghee melts. Whisk until smooth, then let the sauce gently simmer for about 4 minutes.
- Coat the wings: Transfer the cooked wings to a bowl and pour the Buffalo sauce over them. Toss until evenly coated.
- Serve: Serve hot with carrot and celery sticks or your favorite keto ranch.

Tips
- Pat the wings completely dry before seasoning. Removing excess moisture helps them crisp up.
- The optional baking powder helps create a crispier exterior.
- Shake the air fryer basket during cooking so the wings brown and cook evenly.
